Frequently asked questions
- 01Wellness coaching is holistic and takes a uniquely whole-person and whole-health approach. Instead of working with multiple different experts across multiple different areas, all telling you different things, wellness coaching is designed to integrate all areas of health and wellness - physical, mental and emotional. Wellness coaching is the only approach built on a partnership model between coach and client that is fully collaborative and client-led. This means an entirely bespoke approach for each and every client, which flexibly adapts to client needs and focus in the moment. Most experts give clients a list of things to do, but for the majority of people seeking support with their health and wellness simply being told what to do isn’t what they really need. Information on living healthily is already abundantly available. What people need is personalised guidance to interpret that information and develop a lifestyle that makes sense for them, achieves the goals they care about and provides the support and accountability to make it happen. Rooted in the science of behavioural psychology, coaching is designed to do exactly that, helping clients make meaningful, personalised long-term change. Coaches use evidence-based tools and practices to help clients build their own motivation, confidence and self-efficacy rather than creating long-term dependency on the coach. If you are already working with a personal trainer or nutritionist, coaching can work very effectively alongside either or both and will help you integrate other important aspects of wellbeing which are not within the scope of a personal training or nutritionist. Coaching will also give you the tools to create consistency and self-directed motivation for your existing nutrition and fitness routines.
- 02The 3-6 month coaching programme is designed for women who want holistic, meaningful, sustainable change, that they see and feel and makes a genuine difference in their life. By strengthening the foundations of a woman’s overall health and wellbeing she feels more aligned, energised, confident and at ease in her body. As women go through the coaching programme, they find themselves thinking differently about their health, how they take care of their bodies and prioritise their wellbeing. They learn how to listen to their body, what it’s asking for, the science behind it and how to restore balance and calm. They curate an uplifting lifestyle in alignment with how they want to feel and who they want to be. Their health becomes their unshakeable foundation that supports and super-charges their success, fulfillment and happiness. With the support and accountability gained from coaching, even women with the busiest lives and most hectic schedules realise that living this way isn’t an impossibly restrictive, time-consuming drastic life overhaul. It is an eminently doable and more gorgeous way to live. Working with the SHINE Foundations, women on the coaching programme develop a pattern for a healthier lifestyle that achieves their goals and integrates into their life with ease. Limiting beliefs, blocks and confusion about health and wellbeing, that previously held them back, dissolve and they soon find that making the healthy choice becomes the easy choice. Women who have gone through the programme report gaining: • A deeper understanding of how their body works and what it needs to stay healthy. • A fresh, positive mindset about food and how they fuel their body. • An understanding of what high quality, balanced and delicious nutrition looks like on a plate and how to create it with ease. • A genuine enjoyment and motivation for exercising and moving their body. • Increased and steady energy throughout the day without peaks and troughs. • Improved muscle mass, strength and a leaner body composition. • Significant improvements in biomarkers such as blood pressure, blood glucose, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. • An improvement or disappearance of symptoms like bloating and digestive issues. Many women are surprised to experience these improvements within days of starting the programme. • Longer and higher quality sleep, with more energy on waking. • Calmer responses to stressful situations. • Feeling less influenced by the behaviours of those around them and more confident and solid in sticking to their own healthy routines. • A sense of inner knowing and strength, that no matter what, they know what to do and they’ll be ok. Women feel calmer, more confident and like a weight has been lifted as they are finally living a lifestyle that honours their body, their hormones, their nervous system and their mind. Prioritising their wellbeing becomes second nature - something they no longer wrestle with, promise themselves they’ll “start tomorrow” or feel guilty about. They have curated a lifestyle that feels supportive, nourishing, uplifting and abundant in a way that feels solid, natural and like home. Without upheaving their whole life, or that of those around them, they have stepped into a new way of being that has simply become a part of who they are.
- 03The fundamental essence of coaching is a collaborative partnership that is client-led, so the coaching programme is entirely personalised for each individual client. Working with LifeForce Wellness you will not be given generic advice, off-the-shelf one-size-fits-all nutrition advice or lists of things to do. Instead, everything we do is guided by your vision, your goals and all your action steps are created in alignment with your real life.
- 04Yes, absolutely. Coaching can help with any and all aspects of your health and wellbeing. Using the SHINE Foundational principles you will up-level your existing daily health habits and incorporate new ones, to create a holistic, natural and integrated approach to hormone balance, managing stress and energy levels. As a certified yoga teacher and trauma-informed coach, LifeForce Wellness is additionally qualified to support clients with a specific focus in these areas using practices for mindset and nervous system regulation, such as breathing techniques, meditation, mindfulness and cultivating a deeper sense of peace and wellbeing in daily life.
- 05We start with a 90 minute deep dive session to uncover your personal health and wellness vision and high-level goals for the programme and to explore your current lifestyle and health habits. The 3-month coaching programme has 12 weekly 60-minute sessions and the 12-month coaching programme has 12 fortnightly 60-minute sessions. All the action steps you will take between sessions are co-designed, so you can be certain you will never be told to do something you don’t want to do, don’t have time to do or doesn’t feel aligned with your schedule or lifestyle. Everything is designed to fit into your life, commitments and activities you enjoy, not to compete with them.
- 06The programme is designed for women who have busy careers and family commitments. Coaching is a co-collaborative partnership that is client-led, which means that everything we do is specifically tailored to your unique needs and lifestyle. Coaching is an especially effective approach for busy people who want to improve their health and wellbeing without needing to find lots of extra time or overhaul their entire life all at one. Many clients I work with have extremely busy, changeable schedules and travel for work. If this sounds like you, we’ll work on developing failsafe practices and routines for sticking with your healthy habits no matter what is going on in your life. We can also develop strategies for special events, travel and holidays - anything outside of your usual routine.
- 07Between sessions you have unlimited access to me via WhatsApp/Email to check-in, share your progress updates, ask questions and adapt and refine your plan as you go. This is like having your private ‘health coach in your pocket’ level of support. You will also be provided with tools, practices and other tailored resources depending on your personal focus, needs, how you like to learn new things and take action.
- 08Coaching is client-led which means it’s entirely flexible in nature, whilst providing structure in how you take action and stay accountable to achieving your goals. We start by exploring what is most important and impactful for you and this foundational work serves as the compass for everything that follows. Many clients come to coaching with a goal in mind and then decide that what they really need and want is something entirely different. This is why coaching is designed to be flexible guidance, support and accountability, rather than a rigid set of rules. Coaching is focussed on what truly matters to you, and if you don’t know what that is yet, that’s where we’ll start.
- 09Each goal we work towards will be clearly defined so you know precisely what you’re aiming to achieve and you’ll know when you’ve achieved it. We don’t work with vague statements such as ‘be more healthy’’, “get fitter’ or “be less stressed”. We get crystal clear on what success looks and feels like for you personally. Each action step is measurable and moves you definitively towards your goals. There are multiple possible modalities of recording, measuring and tracking progress we can work with which are used flexibly depending on the specific goals and preferences of each client.
- 10This coaching is for women who want a holistic and high-touch coaching journey with long-term support and consistent accountability. We start with an initial 20-minute zoom call to explore whether coaching could be the right fit for you. This is a welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can share your story and what you are hoping to achieve. I’ll provide you with insight into how the coaching programme works, my role as your coach and how we’ll work together. If it feels like coaching is the right approach for you we’ll do a little more exploration of your vision and top goals for the programme. If you decide not to proceed with coaching that’s ok too. If a different approach would be more appropriate for you I will be open about that and help you find the right support.
- 11No. Health and Wellness coaching is not medical advice, nor is it therapy. Coaching should not be treated as a substitute for medical advice or therapy, but can work alongside either or both. If something comes up during coaching that is outside my scope of practice, I will be completely open about that and can refer you to an appropriate expert.
- 12No. Coaching is a person-centered, client-led process focussed on empowering clients through behavioural change. The UK & International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA) and the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) both strictly prohibit their members from claiming to guarantee specific results.
- 13No. This approach is designed to fit into your life. You'll be making improvements to your daily habits and lifestyle and how you want to implement those will be led by you. This is not an extreme and sudden whole life overhaul.
- 14I won't tell you what to eat. You'll get guidance, structure and personalised support. This is a nourishing, balanced relationship with food, designed to achieve your goals, support your long-term health and for real life.
- 15We'll plan for that. It's all part of what we do. You'll learn strategies for when you’re outside of your normal routine, such as work travel, holidays and for special events.

"Working with Liz had a huge impact on my life and physical wellbeing. I’ve always been pretty active, but Liz helped me refocus my nutrition, specifically cutting way back on my alcohol intake, and the changes were not only dramatic, but happened virtually overnight. Liz has a very personal and empathetic approach and is outstanding at what she does. I’m grateful our paths crossed and that I allowed her work to impact me"
